My GMC Yukon failed smog and check engine light came on intermittently. I was directed to take my vehicle to a Star Station, and went to Surf City Smog Huntington Beach, but unfortunately, I received a failed smog test due to pending stored codes in the computer and an intermittent check engine light. Surf City Smogs referred me to Val & Mike’s Auto Repair which I found out was an official certified and licensed smog repair station. Their mechanic was able to quickly identify the computer codes which showed I had two problems; a brake light switch that failed and a more serious problem with my emissions, which also caused the failed smog, was the throttle body assembly. The throttle body assembly and brake light switch repairs were done the same day. The technician performed a relearn on the computer system and recommended that I drive my vehicle at least 50 miles so all the computer monitors can go through the relearn driving cycle process before my car can be re-smogged. It was easy for me to drive the 50 miles and within a couple of days Val & Mike’s Auto Repair rechecked the computer monitors to make sure they all went through the relearn process and it was ready to smog. The smog took only a few minutes and I was able to wait in their comfortable waiting area. I appreciated their service and especially their sensitivity to my schedule in getting my truck taken care of quickly. Jennifer B.
