No start 1999 Ford Explorer
I was in front of my child’s school and my 1999 Ford Explorer would not start. I called AAA and then called Val & Mike’s Auto Repair to let them know what was happening and that I was having the car towed to the shop. As soon as it arrived they began diagnostics. They checked the starter operation and checked for any blown fuses. Then the technician accessed the on board computer system and found a code for “Engine Disabled.” That is when the security light started flashing. They called and asked if I had another key for them check and I said I did. I took the key down to the shop and it started right away. I was expecting the worst and it turned out it was only a bad chip in the key! While it was there I had them change the oil and check it over for any other problems. I trust Val & Mike’s Auto Repair to take care of my car in emergencies and for regular maintenance. Kim P.
