Spark Plug Wires Check Engine Light | Huntington Beach, CA
Spark plug wires check engine light
2000 Volkswagen Cabriolet came in because the check engine light was on and the customer complained about a sputtering at idle. Our technician test drove the vehicle and confirmed the sputtering and also noted a lack of power. The computer diagnostic returned codes for a cylinder misfire and low idle. After further inspection it was found that a spark plug wire burnt as well the distributor cap and rotor. Also there was carbon build up on the throttle body.
The spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor were replaced and the throttle body was cleaned of all carbon build up. The check engine light was cleared and the technician test drove the vehicle again. The light did not come back on the sputtering and lack of power were gone.
